Free Trial Contact Lenses – How To Get Free Colored Contact Lenses

Free trial contact lenses can be extremely beneficial to consumers. Whether you are preparing to get contact lenses for the first time, or simply considering changing contact lens brands, it can be difficult to know which brand and style are right for you. Taking advantage of your ability to get a free sample of contact lenses will make it easier for you to find the perfect lens for you.

A pair of free trial of contact lenses is available for many different lens types and brands. The free trial consists of one free pair of a specific brand or type, which can be worn long enough to decide if the lens is right for you. In general, obtaining a free trial requires calling a promotional phone number or visiting the manufacturer’s website.

You will be required to fill out a simple form, and a certificate will be mailed to you. Some manufacturers will also email the free trial certificate if you choose that option. The certificate will entitle you to one free pair of the contact lenses.

Of course, using your free trial certificate is not as simple as redeeming a coupon at the grocery store. Because the contact lenses are generally prescription lenses, you will need to have a contact lens prescription to get the free pair, which means scheduling an eye exam. Some certificates even specify that the free pair can only be used in conjunction with an eye exam, while some optometrists will only honor the certificates with new prescriptions. It is important to make sure the doctor you choose accepts the certificates prior to trying to use one.

It is even possible to get free colored contact lenses using the free trial certificates. While most manufacturers of colored contact lenses do not currently offer free trials, Acuvue 2 Colors and Fresh-Look color lenses both have available free trial offers. Free trials of colored contact lenses are an incredible opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to try colored lenses but hesitated because of the cost involved or fear of how they would look.

Finally, no two pairs of eyes are alike. In fact, one person can have two completely different lens needs, such as one spherical and one toric. In cases where different types, or even different brands, of contact lenses are needed, experimenting with the lenses can become expensive. Free contact lenses make it possible to try different lenses without breaking the bank.

While some people are content to simply rely on their eye doctor’s choice of contact lens, most prefer to find the lens that is best suited to their unique needs. Free trial contact lenses make it possible to experiment with brands, styles and colors in order to find the perfect contact lenses without the need to spend a fortune.

Comparing Polycarbonate Lenses With Standard CR39 Lenses

CR-39 refers to the material that is used to make the majority prescription lenses. It is an optical grade plastic polymer recognised for its light weight, chemical resistance properties and ‘tint-ability’. In comparable prescriptions it is approximately half the weight of glass lenses, while being slightly thicker. Its impact resistance is greater than glass but does not rise to the level of polycarbonate and it should not be considered for applications where impacts are prevalent. On this basis, it is not recommended for active sports and motorcycling. It is more scratch resistant than polycarbonate, but will scratch if not properly taken care of.

Polycarbonate is an impact resistant material. It is becoming used more widely in recent times – especially for motorcycling and action sports. It is also used frequently for the glazing of rimless frames because of these properties. Although polycarbonate is impact resistant, it should not be considered indestructible. Polycarbonate is the strongest material available and will have the tendency to break into larger pieces, instead of the CR39’s smaller pieces, and is, consequently, less hazardous. Polycarbonate is thinner than standard CR39.

Polycarbonate lenses are ten times more impact resistant than other plastics making them highly suitable for action sports or folk that are a little (shall we say) heavy-handed! They offer UV protection and stop 99.9% of rays from the sun, fluorescent lights and computer screens. Our polycarbonate lenses are supplied with a scratch resistant coating and are thinner than standard lens and therefore more comfortable to wear.

Comparison of Lens Materials & Material Characteristics

Polycarbonate

- Strongest material for impact resistance

- Lightweight

- Can be coated for scratch resistance

- Most have built-in UV radiation protection

Plastic (CR39)

- About one-half the weight of glass

- Resistant to solvents and pitting

- More choices for coatings and tinting

Is LASIK Laser Eye Surgery Painful?

LASIK is by far the most prevalent and safest refractive surgery procedure. It has been employed to treat a host of visual anomalies. Since it’s a surgery, people often harbor a false belief that LASIK is a painful procedure. In fact, LASIK is a relatively painless technique, and what the patient experiences during and after the surgery can be categorized as mild discomfort rather than pain.

LASIK is performed with the patient awake and mobile, and this certainly corroborates that the operation is relatively painless. The surgeon typically administers a mild sedative (for instance Valium) and anesthetic eye drops. LASIK involves creation of a flap of corneal tissue. This hinged flap may be created with a microkeratome (a surgical blade) or a femtosecond laser. During this initial step of flap formation, the patient may experience a little bit of pressure on the eye.

In the following step, the flap is folded back to reveal the middle section of the cornea, in order to make way for precise ablation by the excimer laser. Then the flap is repositioned to allow natural healing. Upon completion of the surgery, the patient may experience discomfort, scratchiness and irritation, akin to the sensation of wearing an uncomfortable contact lens. Such irritable sensation can be soothed with the aid of eye drops, and it normally wears off within a few hours after surgery.

Since the laser ablation is performed the middle section of the cornea and under the LASIK flap, the cornea does not register the fact that it has been surgically operated. As the wound response is subdued, the patient experiences speedy visual recovery and almost no pain.

However, as with any surgery, LASIK has associated complications that may force the patient to bear greater discomfort after surgery. A few of such nagging complications include dry eyes, visual acuity fluctuation, halos or starbursts around light sources at night, double vision, light sensitivity, and several flap related problems.

All in all, LASIK is a safe and efficacious procedure, which is virtually painless. Though the patient may experience mild discomfort due to potential complications, the complication rate itself is quite meager. If presented with the question of whether LASIK hurts or not, I would certainly say that it’s a painless procedure.

Finding a LASIK surgeon that you are confident about will be able to give you more information about laser eye surgery.

LASEK – PRK – REWORK

In PRK the epithelium (top layer of the cornea) is scraped off and then the laser treatment is applied. A contact lens is used as a “bandage” to decrease discomfort. The epithelium then grows back over the bare area during the next few days. In LASEK the epithelium is exposed to 20% alcohol which helps separate epithelium from the cornea. The epithelium is pushed to one side and laser treatment applied. The epithelial layer is replaced back onto the eye and held in place with a contact lens. The contact lens is then removed a few days later. LASEK is hence a “no knife”/flap operation. Epi-Lasik is a smilar procedure that uses a keratome like that used for Lasik, but engineered to only separate the epithelium. The epithelium is left on a hinge, laser treatment applied and flap replaced. For more information on Laser Eye Surgery & more videos please visit www.lasik-eyes.co.uk

Lasik eye centers around the country are blossoming with a bright hope for myopic patients. All the lasik eye centers are equipped with a well-trained, accountable and competent staff and subordinates along with an extensive variety of payment options.

Well, when there are hundreds of Lasik eye centers existing in the country, it become of utmost meaning to find out a good lasik eye center having qualified and, skilled doctors who will not let you down. Evidently, no one would take a menace to visit the doctors whom he or she does not trust. Especially, for an imperative and valued organ like eye, one needs to have firm assertion, strong faith and enough authentications before embarking on the endeavor. Now when we are discussing this issue, I must counsel you not to just turn the yellow pages and unfortunately fall prey to some inexpensive advertising at low cost surgery. In addition to that, you may be barraged with so many hidden costs that these people can have. And above all, you must not negotiate your eye-health! A dependable lasik eye center should extend a quality service, sound experience, fair dependability and professionalism to all the patients at any moment of time.

Now, let’s bicker something about lasik eye surgery too. Lasik eye surgery is a refractive technique that works to accurate and fix the way in which our eyes refract light. When the lens of our eye captures light i.e. the explicit portion of the eye located right behind the iris, or better say, colored part of the eye, it refracts, or bends, allocating the light to be then captured by the retina, which is a group of cells in the coating in the back of the eye.

The retina then takes up these light signals and converts them into definite messages that can be realized by the optic nerve present in our brain. But, when our eyes get any refractive complications through farsightedness, nearsightedness, or astigmatism; the light is not refracted to the retina fittingly and the brain tends to obtain a message of a blurred and fuzzy image.

Now, you should make out how lasik eye surgery corrects this complicatedness? In lasik surgery, laser is used to resurface the cornea (the thin, transparent covering that covers the iris and the lens, hence clearing the way for refractive clarity). It is an uncomplicated and valuable surgery that hardly takes minutes when executed by an experienced and skilled eye surgeon. Depending upon your medical state, the lasik surgeon can also settle on your elasticity to the surgery and can alert of any complications if supposed to be arisen.

For the sake of safety quantify, you must talk to the people who have already gone through the modus operandi and then locate out the nearest and best lasik eye center that is affordable to you. Remember! If you are fascinated in a persnickety lasik eye center, then it’s better to discuss it with the patients who have had the procedure performed in that center and who are ready to share their positive experience. Lastly, visit the centers in which you are interested to assess their organization, patient care together with their pre-operative and post-operative care, hygiene, professionalism of the staff, and every plausible financial option accessible to you.

Once you are done with a good research to decide on the best institute, it is the right time to visit the surgeons or consultants who will be performing your eye surgery. Most of fair doctors will prefer reversing the pros and cons of the surgery, lasik cost, post-operative possible complications, care to be taken, available payment options and all your suspicions, before opening with the modus operandi.

So, after you put your name down in a convicted lasik eye center, talk well about your case with the alarmed eye surgeons and doctors; be confident enough to endure the procedure, and you will unquestionably get the successful outcome. Good Luck!
